Summary
ZL double-pointer speed gauge for locomotive is a kind of wide angle gauge that indicated
magnetoelectric indicating pointer. It can show the limited speed and the actual speed simultaneously. T
kind of gauge includes the double-pointer gauge (ZL—0) with mile-meter and the double-pointer speed gau
(ZL—1) without mile-meter.
The gauge is composed of upper movement, downside movement, mile-meter, lighting, and shell. W
the information offered by monitoring device, the inner pointer (yellow) shows the actual speed of locomoti
and the external pointer (red) shows the limited speed.
Presently, this kind of gauge is widely applied in monitoring system of locomotive. Based on
designed technique, the application of gauge can be extended for various railroad locomotive, m
locomotive, subway, and light rail.
The gauge is endowed with following advantages: small volume, convenient installation, and e
reading, with night lighting, stable reading, and high reliability.

Simple Ways of Maintenance
1\ This gauge should be re-measured every three months in order to assure its accuracy.
2\ When adjusting, take off two rubber plugs at the bottom of gauge, put the gauge in the device at an
angle of 60o with level, then use screwdriver to adjust the potentiometer, making linearity reach the stipulated
value.
3\ When the lighting go wrong, take off 6 screws at the bottom of the gauge, take out movement, then
screw off 6 screws in the clamping plate, take off the lighting plate for repair.
4\ Please do not touch the moving element, pointer, pin tube, balance hammer, and spring in the
movement, otherwise it will cause error.
